WEST CHICAGO – Gary Elementary School kindergartners (from left) Jafet Cortez, Bryan Perez, Guadalupe Perez and Jorge Morales celebrate their 100th day of school Feb. 24.

Some students and teachers dressed up as 100-year-olds to mark the important day. Other students wore crowns celebrating 100 days.

Clifford visited the school, leading the kindergartners in a hallway parade.

Teachers often use the 100-day celebration as a fun way to incorporate math skills, such as counting to 100 by increments of five or 10 or making posters with 100 items on them.
