Man charged with home invasion
A Moline man was charged with home invasion after he broke down the door to an ex-girlfriend’s house and battered her outside in the 4400 block of Madison Avenue on March 17.
Christopher Charles Lievens, 44, of the 2000 block of First Street, began texting the woman, who said the couple had broken up a week before, accusing her of cheating and asking her whereabouts. She said she was not home. At 11 p.m., Lievens began moving the locked door handle demanding she let him in. After numerous phone calls, Lievens said he was coming over and would break down the door if she didn’t let him in. Lievens arrived about midnight and kicked open a side door to the garage, then the laundry room door leading into the house.
Lievens then grabbed the woman as she ran out the front door, striking her with his head and and breaking her phone. Police arrived and took Lievens into custody.
He was also charged with aggravated domestic battery and two counts of criminal damage to property.
Juan Fierro, 25, of the 300 block of North Forest Avenue, Hillside, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he was found passed out and slumped over the wheel of his Cadillac, racing the engine of the car with two flat tires, in the parking lot of the Burger King at Ogden and First avenues, at 5 a.m. March 16. A passenger in the car said they had hit a pothole somewhere after thy exited the expressway. Fierro was issued a total of four citations.
• Maria Navarro, 24, of the 6100 block of South Sacramento Avenue, Chicago, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol after she was stopped in the 8100 block of West Ogden Avenue at 4:31 a.m. March 13.
• Francisco Garcia, 20, of the 2800 block of West 25th Place, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he was stopped near 26th Street and Desplaines Avenue for crossing the yellow line several times and not having rear tail lights on at 3:12 a.m. March 15.
• Michael A. Cihon, 29, of the 1600 block of Winter Court, Joliet, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after he was observed nearly striking the curb while turning onto Harlem Avenue from Shenstone Road at 4 a.m. March 10.
