NAPERVILLE – Blind walker Pat Byrne and his seeing eye dog, Jenny, are accompanied Saturday by Naperville Sunrise rotarian Dawn Ruth at the start of the St. Paddy’s Day 5K in downtown Naperville, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise.

Byrne contacted the club for a walking partner, so he could participate in the third annual event.

Two thousand two hundred runners and walkers took to the streets prior to the Naperville St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Proceeds from the 5K go to supporting youth and young adult health and development programs in the Naperville area.
