Bolingbrook man accused of touching girls at Bolingbrook Rec and Aquatic Complex
BOLINGBROOK – A 52-year-old man has been charged with having sexual contact with young girls at the community pool.
Police were called on the afternoon of March 1 to the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Complex, 200 S. Lindsey Lane, in reference to Luis O. Diaz, according to Lt. Mike Rompa.
“Officers were informed by several witnesses, Diaz allegedly made inappropriate physical contact with a 5-year-old female and an 8-year-old female while in the children’s pool,” Rompa said.
Rompa said police conducted interviews while Diaz was arrested and released with charges pending the results of evidence collected.
Detectives also learned Diaz had been hired by a Bolingbrook resident to service the heating and air conditioning units on two occasions earlier this year, Rompa said.
“On both visits he was able to distract an 8-year-old female into the basement area where he sexually abused her,” Rompa said. The initial incident was not discovered until the later one was reported, according to police reports.
Diaz was arrested about 6 p.m. Wednesday at his residence in the 300 block of Falcon Ridge Way. He is charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and is being held in the Will County jail on $500,000 bond.
