Elmhurst Swim Team members compete at two big meets

ELMHURST – The Elmhurst Swim Team had 22 swimmers compete at two different big meets last weekend.

EST had 13 female swimmers at the 2014 Speedo Champions Series Seniors Meet held in Pleasant Prairie, Wis., March 13 to 16.

Paula Nolte made it to the awards podium by placing eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a personal best time of 2:25.66.

Nolte joined Hannah Nolte, Sam Marlott and Molly Kuenstler on the 400 medley relay team that finished ninth with a time of 4:01.82.

Other EST swimmers who competed were Winona Asher, Amy Choi, Lauren Frendreis, Molly Hill, Kanah Hori, Melissa Johnston, Meaghan McIntyre, Ailie Orzak and Amalia Siavelis.

Nine EST swimmers competed at the 2014 Illinois Short Course Speedo Age Group Championships held at UIC March 13 to 16.

Connor McCarthy made the awards podium with a seventh time of 31.22 seconds in the 50-yard butterfly, and he just missed the podium in the 100 butterfly as he came in ninth with a time of 1:11:60.

Anthony Bauer, Anthony Flores, Connor Groya, Jeremy Harrington, Andrew Hausoul, Claire Pfaff, Brendan Wagner and Flanagan Waldherr also swam at UIC.
