Prep roundup: Wheaton gymnasts win early meet

The Wheaton co-op boys gymnastics team began defense of its back-to-back state titles in impressive fashion, kicking off the spring with a score of 160.40 at the DuPage Valley championship event.

David MacDonald posted an all-around total of 56.400. He scored a 9.60 on the parallel bars, a 9.50 on the vault and rings, a 9.3 on the pommel horse and floor exercise and a 9.2 on the high bar.

Ethan Sansone added an all-around total of 54.100, with high marks of a 9.50 on the pommel horse and a 9.30 on the vault.

Ben Szot also competed in the all-around, finishing with a 49.90. He had a high of 8.90 on the rings.


Wheaton North

Wes Noyes has committed to continue his track careere at Biola University in La Mirada, Calif.

Noyes specializes in the 800- and 1,600-meter runs and has a personal best in the 800 that is close to Biola’s current program record.

Noyes was also part of Wheaton North’s state meet-qualifying cross country team last fall and ran a time of 15:58 at the state meet as the Falcons finished 22nd as a team.
