Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital received the Magnet recognition for nursing excellence for the second time, hospital officials announced March 10.
The hospital was re-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, which recognizes excellence in nursing through a voluntary credentialing program. Hospitals must apply for re-designation every four years. Good Samaritan Hospital was first recognized in 2009, according to a press release from the hospital.
Magnet recognition is achieved by only 7 percent of hospitals nationwide, according to the hospital.
