LEMONT – With a high of 39 degrees but thankfully no snow, Lemont marched on through a chilly St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival on Saturday.

Lemont Village Trustee Jeanette Virgilio said the weather did not put much of a damper on the parade.

"I was pleasantly surprised that, though the weather was a deterrent, the sun came out and there was a healthy crowd," she said.

Asked if this was the coldest St. Patrick's Day Parade she had attended, she said "I think we've had colder."

The festival took place in the warmer confines of the Lemont VFW Hall.

Musicians and dancers took the stage, including St. Patrick's Day Queen Bridget Lynn, who played the fiddle along with some of her music students.

"[Lynn performing] was a nice touch," Virgilio said.
