BARTLETT - Glenbard North has played a fast-paced, aggressive brand of basketball all season.

So when Proviso East tied the game with 18 seconds left in Wednesday's Bartlett Class 4A sectional semifinal, the Panthers weren't about to slow down and settle for the final shot.

Instead, Jeremiah Fleming knocked down a long three-pointer off a pass from Chip Flanigan with eight seconds remaining and that proved to be the game-winner in a 77-74 victory.

With the win, Glenbard North advances to the sectional final Friday against Morton.

Leading the entire first half, the Panthers built the lead to as many as 11 points in the third quarter. But the Pirates answered with 14-2 run, taking their first advantage late in the third quarter.

Glenbard North responded with 7-2 spurt to end the period and then pushed the margin to seven with 1:58 to go in the game. Proviso East kept fighting, hitting a trio of three-pointers over the final minute and a half, setting up Fleming's heroics.

Chip Flanigan led the five players in scoring figures with 18 points. Fleming finished with 16 points, Pasquale Fiduccia totaled 15, Justin Jackson added 13 and Kendall Holbert contributed 11.
