Glen Crest eighth grade boys hoops wins conference title

The Glen Crest Middle School eighth grade boys basketball team won the DuPage Metro Valley Association conference championship with a 12-2 record this season.

The squad finished 16-3 overall and captured the consolation championship at the Jay Stream Tournament.

“Whenever these guys were challenged they responded,” Glen Crest coach Dan Sheridan said. “This was a very close-knit team that really jelled together from the first day of practice.”

As a team, the Spartans averaged 49 points per game and scored 60 or more points on three different occasions. 

Members of the Glen Crest team were Nick Atkinson, Linton Ellis, Drew Fritz, Brian Kozlowski, Matt Lamontagna, Ryan McConville, Michael Paprota, Cameron Sanders, Jack Santucci, Dimitar Spasovski, Brandon Whiteside, Justin Wold, Alex Zamsky, and Michael Zima. Team managers this season were Yemi Fatuga, Greg Kozlik and Ryan Lim.
