WHEATON – The Wheaton Police Department will increase enforcement efforts regarding seat belt laws from Thursday to Monday as a part of Illinois' "Click It or Ticket" undertaking, according to a city news release.

Uniformed police officers will be outside their vehicles at several locations throughout the community looking for unrestrained drivers and passengers. Violators will receive citations.

The city of Wheaton received a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation's Division of Traffic Safety to fund the effort.
