ADDISON – Addison Trail High School senior Francesco Bondi was crowned "Mr. AT" during the school's annual competition Feb. 28.

Bondi was one of 15 male seniors who competed for the title. The competition required each contestant to perform a group dance, showcase a talent, demonstrate his Blazer Pride, escort a parent or guardian in formal wear and answer questions from a panel of judges.

This year’s competition had a spy theme and was entitled “Code Name Mr. AT.”

For his talent, Bondi sang “Fly on the Wall” by Miley Cyrus. He had backup dancers dressed as insects, and in a District 88 news release, he said he chose the song because it has a secret agent/spy vibe.

During the Blazer Wear competition, Bondi proudly sported T-shirts from Theatre, Italian Club, Debate Team, Shades of Blue, Best Buddies, Relay For Life, the boys soccer team and the boys volleyball team to show his involvement at Addison Trail. For the formal wear portion, he escorted his mother, Maria.

Bondi said he was surprised to have been nominated to compete in Mr. AT, and he enjoyed getting to know the other contestants, whom he referred to as “brothers.” In the release, he added Mr. AT was a great way to wrap up his senior year at Addison Trail, and he looks forward to coming back and seeing others win the Mr. AT title.
