[Big on soccer]Team Elmhurst Soccer Club walked behind the Suburban Life team in the Elmhurst St. Pat's Parade. [Lining up]Crowds at the Elmhurst St. Pat's Day Parade. [Traveling in style]The Suburban Life team walked alongside a Suburban SUV. [Top of the world]Who says you can't go surfing in Elmhurst? [Have to accessorize]Green mustache, green glasses, good to go. [Get the candy]With all the candy being thrown about, it was important to be thorough. [Fun hats]Amusing headwear was all around during the parade. [Ideal winterwear]Those who had green coats were both festive and relatively warm. [Keepin' dry]With plenty of snow still around, a tarp on the ground is a great idea. [Relaxin']The parade was pretty lengthy, so some folks opted for chairs. [Taking it in]Despite the cold, there were plenty of people in attendance. [Tandem tots]This pair of youngsters in a stroller had a great place to watch the parade. [Ready for candy]A group stands ready to collect some loot. [Who wants candy?]The main attraction at a parade isn't always the floats. [At Spring and Wilson]This group was gathered at the corner of Spring and Wilson streets. [A big haul]The youngsters with the Mariano's bags appear to have done pretty well. Your wish is our command. [Wave hello]Say hi to these young Blackhawks fans. [Like a day at the beach?]Beach blanket, wagon, gloves, hats ... they've got everything they need. [Needed a lift]Sometimes you need a friendly adult to give you a better view of the parade. [Serious business]No giggles on display among these boys. Parades are important, after all. [True excitement]Now that's some real Elmhurst enthusiasm. [It's a party]These gents are positioned perfectly for a hard rock album cover, don't you think? [Green bags]Another way to show that St. Paddy's spirit. [Taped off]Now we come to the part of the parade route where police tape was put up to keep the crowds at bay. [More festive hats]Here's another great crop of hats and other accoutrements. [What's over there?]These guys have their eyes on the prize. [Intent]It takes hard work to get all the best stuff. [A strong grip]This little guy doesn't seem too concerned by the fact that his goblet is empty. [A stretch]Paradegoers had to stay behind the tape, but that didn't stop folks from pushing forward a bit. [Out of neccesity]In a pinch, an oversized holiday hat can also serve as a bag to collect goodies. [Eye-popping colors]These kids stave off the cold, gray winter with some vibrant colored outfits. [Ready for a nap?]As the parade goes on, some may find it difficult to keep going. [Well-behaved]Not every dog can handle all the stimuli of a parade. [Big yawn]If you're tired now, the bad news is that Daylight Saving Time is taking away an hour of sleep, too. [Probably true]It says "Irish" on her forehead, so you know she had a good day. [Can't hold us back]The police tape didn't hold up too well along this stretch. [Both extremes]We've seen oversized festive hats, why not a tiny one, too? [Stealing the spotlight]To be fair, he probably didn't realize he was blocking the shot. [Official representation]Elmhurst Alderman Scott Levin was among the many local officials at the parade. [Great gathering]The view looking back at the tail end of the parade just after crossing the train tracks that mark the end of the route. [Going all out]They got the message: Wear green for St. Patrick's Day.
