Police reports: Hinsdale, Darien for March 7

False identification

John Rafferty, 18, 4937 Central Ave., Western Springs, was charged with fraudulent identification after attempting to buy alcohol with a fake driver’s license about 4:17 p.m. Saturday at BP Amoco, 149 E. Ogden Ave.

Deceptive practice

A known suspect made six transactions between 11 a.m. Feb. 18 and noon Feb. 26 at Kramer’s Foods, 16 Grant Square, using checks from a closed account. Four transactions took place Feb. 18 and two transactions took place Feb. 26, totaling about $585. The store was charged $120 in returned check fees from the bank.

Harassing phone calls

Someone made numerous phone calls of a harassing nature between 3:14 p.m. Feb. 23 and 7:49 a.m. Monday in the 400 block of 58th Place.

Possession charged

A 15-year-old from Hinsdale was charged with possession of marijuana about 3:58 p.m. Feb. 27 in the 700 block of South Vine Street.

Battery charged

Ruslan Tiniakov, 42, 211 W. 59th St., was charged with domestic battery about 10:08 p.m. Feb. 26 in the 200 block of West 59th Street. The suspect made contact of an insulting or provoking nature with a female family member.


Theft charged

Rita Ciotola, 66, 18 W. 125 Rodgers Court, Darien, was charged with retail theft Feb. 25 at Brookhaven Market Place, 7516 Cass Ave.

Theft reported

Several folding chairs and a table were stolen from a locked vehicle Feb. 26 parked in the parking lot of Walmart, 2189 75th St.

Possession charged

• Andrea Byrnes, 19, 516 Warner Ave., Lemont, was charged with possession of marijuana and not wearing a seat belt Feb. 27 at Route 83 and Lemont Road.

• Ashley Newcomb, 26, 1124 N. Springfield Ave., Chicago, was charged with possession of marijuana Saturday at Sears, 7415 Cass Ave.
