Burr Ridge structure fire causes over $1 million in damage

BURR RIDGE – A structure fire at about 12:32 p.m Monday in the 9400 block of Falling Water Drive in Burr Ridge resulted in 1.7 million of damage and losses, according to the Tri-State Fire District.

At about 12:32 p.m. Monday, crews responded to the report of a fire at 9476 Falling Water Drive and arrived to find "heavy smoke" and flames billowing from the first floor of a single family unit, according to a news release from the Tri-State Fire District.

Fire crews made an interior attack and conducted a search, confirming that there was no life threat. Shortly after, the roof and structure collapsed, forcing fire fighters to use a defensive attack. according to the release.

One firefighter suffered a sprain injury during the incident, according to Tri State.

The cause of the fire has been deemed "non suspicious," but remains under investigation, according to the release.
