BROOKFIELD – An Oakbrook Terrace realty group is anxiously waiting for the village of Brookfield to accept its preliminary plan to construct an apartment building on Fairview Avenue. Board members will vote on the proposed project at their March 10 meeting.

“This building would contain high-end, multi-family apartments,” said Michael Gatto, vice-president for RMG Realty Group. “It’ll be designed for young and employed professionals.”

Gatto said the realty group plans to build the apartments on top of a vacant parking lot. He added the nine-unit building will also have on-site parking with 12 spots.

The vice-president said the village board has already given RMG some revisions and feedback on how they want to see the building constructed. He added the realty group has to present to board members that it has taken their ideas into consideration.

“Brookfield is primed and poised for redevelopment; I’m excited for this project, ” said Gatto. “The town has a great nightlife scene and is full of character and charm.”

Gatto said RMG is in talks with Bridgeview Bank to help with funding the $950,000 project.

He added the final plan will go back to the village board for approval in early May.
