WESTMONT – Community Unit School District 201 will hold two public meetings during the week of March 10 to discuss a proposed referendum that appears on the March election ballot.
The district will begin the first meeting at 7 p.m. March 10 at Westmont High School; the second session will start at 7 p.m. March 12 at Miller School, 125 W Traube Ave.
Both meetings will cover the same agenda.
On Dec. 10, the District 201 School Board voted unanimously to place a referendum on the March 18 ballots, requesting to increase the debt service extension base over a 20-year period.
District officials will ask its stakeholders for $24 million over the next 20 years to fund facility improvements.
The tax hikes would be on a mostly upward trend, with the lowest hike in year one and the sharpest increase in year six.
