33 groups to benefit from Lyons Club funds

RIVERSIDE – The Riverside Township Lyons Club announce that 33 organizations will benefit from a share of $9,000 in the Lyons Club’s annual distribution of funds, according to a news release.

The Riverside Township Lyons Club donates money to organizations that provide services to the blind and deaf, and to children and adults who are disabled or have special needs. The club also provides financial support for various local charities and organizations.

Those receiving funds this year include the North Riverside and Riverside public libraries to purchase supplies for the hearing and visually impaired; Boy Scout Troop 24 and 92; Explorer Post 126 and 390, People Care in Riverside; the Riverside Township Food Pantry; Girl Scout Troop 1020 and 657; the Riverside Historical Commission; the North Riverside Historical Society; and the Riverside Friends of July 4th.

Other area organizations receiving support include Pillars in Berwyn; Helping Hand Rehabilitation Center in Countryside; Scottish Home in North Riverside; Seguin Services Inc. in Cicero; and Aging Care Connections in La Grange.
