A Texas man accused of forcing his way into a 63-year-old woman's home and sexually assaulting her is being held on $1 million bond, according to a DuPage County State's Attorney's Office news release.

Roberto Noyola-Espinal, 37, is charged with one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault and one count of home invasion after an alleged 1999 incident in Lisle, the release said.

Noyola-Espinal allegedly approached the woman's apartment Feb. 7 and knocked on the patio door, according to the release. She opened the door, mistaking Noyola-Espinal for a friend, but attempted to close it after realizing she didn't know him. He then allegedly forced the door open, entered the apartment and physically and sexually assaulted the woman, before fleeing the scene.

The federal Combined DNA Index System connected DNA of the suspect in the 1999 incident to Noyola-Espinal in October 2013, the release said. He was extradited to DuPage County on Feb. 27.

Noyola-Espinal will next appear in court March 31 before Judge Blanche Hill Fawell, according to the release.
