IC girls settle for fourth place

Knights drop two games at state

NORMAL – The IC Catholic girls basketball team wasn't able to continue its winning ways in the playoffs, but the Knights still go home with a state trophy.

The Knights lost both games at Redbird Arena to place fourth in Class 2A.

Prophetstown beat IC 57-48 in a semifinal Friday. The Knights got 24 points and eight rebounds from Grace Vitek and 10 points and seven rebounds from Rory Manion in the loss.

In Saturday's third place game, IC lost a close one 32-28 to Teutopolis. The Knights led 16-12 at halftime, but ultimately fell short.
