Woodridge to present three concept plans for new Town Centre at open house tonight
WOODRIDGE – The Village of Woodridge is considering three options for redevelopment of the Town Centre and is giving residents a chance to weigh in.
The village will host a Town Centre Open House from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday night at Edgewood School, 7900 Woodridge Drive.
The open house will allow residents to view and comment on the three concept plans for the Town Centre, at Woodridge and Center drives, where the village's primary facilities are located, including Village Hall, the police department, the public works department, the local U.S. Post Office and Hawthorne Hill Woods.
The 185-acre property also includes 44 acres of open space jointly owned by the village and park district.
The village hired Houseal Lavigne to develop a Town Centre Master Plan that includes a "community supported vision that further strengthens the Town Centre as a community focal point," according the village's website. Last year, Houseal Lavigne collected public input used to outline the three concept plans.
A funding plan has not yet been determined by the Village of Woodridge, as financing opportunities will be dependent on grants and the components of the plan, according to village officials.
Feedback from tonight's meeting will be used to formalize the alternatives into a preferred Town Centre Master Plan that will be presented to the Woodridge Plan Commission, village board and park district board in April.
There will be a short presentation at 7 p.m. to summarize the key recommendations for each alternative.
