Connor VanderBrug’s 31 points led the Trojans to a 59-44 win against Chicago Christian on Tuesday. Timothy (15-9, 8-3 Metro Suburban Conference) will play its MSC finale tonight against Ridgewood.

The Dukes nearly upset West Suburban Silver champ Downers Grove North, but ultimately fell 41-38 in a regional final on Feb. 21. York led after each of the first three quarters, including a 13-5 lead after one quarter, before the Trojans rallied for the victory. York finished the season 15-13.

Noah Fleckenstein finished out his wrestling career at the Class 3A state meet on Thursday. Fleckenstein lost his only match at 195 pounds and was not able to go to the wrestlebacks.

Senior Meghan Davidson closed out her high school career with a 9.15 on the balance beam at the state meet. That score tied her for 15th place on the event.

Freshman Peter Barabolak was seventh at the Downers Grove North sectional on Saturday to book his place at this weekend’s state meet. He was the only Duke to qualify for state.

The Dukes were 24th at Friday’s preliminary round at state. Hannah Schwarz (83rd) and Jessica Jensen (93rd) both placed in the top 100 individually.
