LA GRANGE – The La Grange Village Board approved a contract with Kenig, Lindgren, O'Hara and Aboona, Inc. (KLOA) not to exceed $16,750 for projects involving the intersection at Ogden and Locust avenues at their Feb. 24 board meeting.

The intersection at Ogden Avenue and La Grange Road is in the top 5 percent of worst performing intersections in the state in terms of accident severity and frequency, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Trustee Jim Palermo said that based on that statistic, IDOT is planning on improving the intersection, which includes the related intersection at Ogden and Locust avenues near Gordon Park.

As a part of the extended contract with KLOA Inc., Palermo said the village recommends placing a traffic signal at Ogden and Locust avenues, following the completion of a traffic study of the area.

In a unanimous vote, the board approved an extended contract with KLOA, which included the firm conducting a local traffic study of the intersection.
