Darien Police Department responds to report of explosion

DARIEN – The Darien Police Department responded to a report of an explosion with a female injured Feb. 20 at the University of Chicago Medical Center, 7955 Cass Ave.

Police responded at 7:51 p.m., along with the DuPage County Bomb Squad, the BATF and the FBI, according to the Darien Police Department.

Upon further investigation, it was determined to be a "cleaning safety accident," according to police.

There doesn't appear to be any criminal activity related to the incident at this time, however, the investigation is ongoing, according to police.
