Structure fire put out in Burr Ridge, three injuries reported

BURR RIDGE – The Tri-State Fire District responded to a structure fire at 7:42 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of 89th Street in Burr Ridge.

Crews arrived at 185 89th St. to find a single family structure with heavy smoke billowing from the residence and fire on the first floor.

Two occupants of the building were safely escorted out as crews extinguished the fire within the first 10 minutes, which contributed "greatly" to the welfare of the building, according to a news release from the Tri-State Fire District.

Three injuries were reported, including smoke related issues for one occupant, and injuries to two firefighters, which included a shoulder and knee injury.

The fire is currently under investigation.
