DOWNERS GROVE – The park district is searching for two local bands to play in its upcoming Summer Concert Series.

The 2014 Summer Concert Series debuts in Fishel Park in May, and this year the Downers Grove Park District is offering two local bands an opportunity to play alongside 60’s rockers New Invaders, swing group Bopology, and country band Billy Croft & the 5 Alarm.

The park district is currently accepting applications from local bands to fill two of the Thursday night slots on June 24 and July 29.

Any interested bands can submit demo materials to Kari Loekle at 2455 Warrenville Road, or email them to kloekle@dgparks.org. To be considered, must submit items by March 14.

The free concerts take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday nights throughout the summer at Veterans Memorial Pavilion in Fishel Park.

The full lineup for the Summer Concert Series, sponsored this year by Homer Tree Care, is available at www.dgparks.org/Recreation/concert-series.htm
