La Grange Park announces open police officer position

LA GRANGE PARK – The village of La Grange Park announced an opening for a police officer position with the La Grange Park Police Department.

To qualify for the position, applicants must be between 21 and 35 years old, be a United States citizen, possess a valid driver's license, be eligible under state law to be appointed as a police officer and possess a minimum of 60 college credits at the time of applying.

Candidates for the position – which has a starting salary of $60,000 a year – will go through a written examination, background investigation, oral interview, post-offer medical examination, vision screening along with polygraph and psychological examinations.

Applications can be picked up at the police department, 447 N. Catherine Ave., and should be submitted by 5 p.m. March 17. The written exam and orientation will be held at 5:30 p.m. March 31 at Nazareth Academy, 1209 W. Ogden Ave.
