Traffic accidents involving school buses and other collisions reported Friday morning in Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE – Downers Grove Police reported at least five traffic collisions and two vehicles that went off the road during hazardous driving conditions Friday morning.

Two vehicles collided at about 6:55 a.m. Friday in the 400 block of Ogden Avenue. There were minor injuries and Fairview Avenue at 41st Street was shutdown for a short time, according to police.

Additionally, an SUV collided with a school bus at about 7:05 a.m. Friday in the 1000 block of 59th Street. There were no children on the bus and no injuries were reported.

Eleven minutes later, there was another collision between a different school bus and a vehicle in the 2400 block of Maple Avenue. Again, children were on the bus but no injuries were reported.

Then, a two-vehicle accident was reported at 8:17 a.m. Friday in the 5900 block of Main Street. There were no injuries.

Two minutes later there was another traffic collision between two vehicles in the 6600 block of Carpenter Street. No injuries were reported.

Police said two vehicles also slid off the roadway Friday morning in Downers Grove, unrelated to any of the other accidents, according to police.
