WHEATON - On a night when Chrissy Baird became the all-time rebounding leader at Wheaton North, the senior forward no doubt would have given up that recognition for a regional plaque.

Instead, Baird and her Falcons' teammates saw their season come to an end in a 75-63 loss to Geneva in a Class 4A regional final.

Wheaton North trailed 20-15 after the opening eight minutes but battled back to take the lead midway through the second quarter. But the visitors ended the half on a 9-2 run to take a 39-34 advantage into the break.

Geneva upped the margin to eight at the end of three quarters and never let the Falcons get closer than six the rest of the way.

Baird finished with 23 points. Emmy Gryna hit five threes and finished with 15 points and Emari Jones added 12 points.
