LOMBARD – The Village of Lombard remains in good shape this afternoon despite heavy overnight rain and melting snow caused by the rising temperature.

"We have some pockets of street flooding, but other than that, we're all high and dry," Lombard Public Works Director Carl Goldsmith said.

Public works crews have been working since Monday, opening inlets in preparation for the inclement weather.

"At this point, the water is flowing freely and we have done what we can," he said, adding that the department is keeping a close eye on the weather system.

Residents with an inlet in front of their property should make sure to keep ice accumulation away so that stormwater can flow, Golfsmith said.

If Lombard residents have issues, they are encouraged to call the public works department at 630-620-5740.
