Pam Bylsma was recently named assistant superintendent for academics by the District 86 Board of Education.

RIVERSIDE – The Hinsdale District 86 Board of Education named Pam Bylsma assistant superintendent for academics at its Feb. 13 meeting.

Bylsma will begin her contract with the district July 1 after completing the school year at Riverside Brookfield High School where she has been principal for four years.

Bylsma served as assistant principal and dean of students at Hinsdale Central High School for 11 years and achieved national recognition for the Character Counts Education Program she helped develop and administer during that time, according to a news release from District 86.

Riverside Brookfield High School District 208 Superintendent Kevin Skinkis praised Bylsma for her work during her time at RB.

"[Bylsma] has been a consummate professional during her time at RB," Skinkis said. "She's very driven and it comes at no surprise that she has this new position. We appreciate all her work during her time here."

Skinkis said the District 208 Board of Education will begin their discussion of replacing Bylsma at their next meeting Feb. 25.
