DOWNERS GROVE – Prairie Avenue from Northcot to Lee avenues has been reopened to traffic after closing due to flooding earlier Thurday morning, according to the village.

There were no other roads closed due to flooding as of 11:50 a.m. Thursday.

"There's some been some moderate pooling here or there, but nothing severe," Village of Downers Grove Spokesman Doug Kozlowski said.

Crews have been out clearing storm grates, and a flood watch is in effect until 3 p.m. Thursday. Other special weather advisories are also in effect, including one for high winds until 5 p.m. Thursday.

Crews have also positioned barricades near areas that have the potential to flood, to ensure quick and safe road closures, according to the village.
