ROUND LAKE BEACH – Preschool students sat captivated by The Amazing Tim Adamz as the magician, comedian and educator used magic and humor to inform kids about proper dental care and nutrition.

Tim Adams, who goes by the moniker The Amazing Tim Adamz, performed Feb. 20 at Round Lake Area Park District.

Adams spoke to students about the importance of brushing teeth, flossing and other dental-care related issues all while pulling a rabbit out of a hat, performing slight-of-hand tricks and more.

“You can never start too early," Adams said. “Teeth is an important subject to teach and you want to tell kids that they need to grow up without them having rot. As for nutrition, I was always in sports growing up and I always took care of my body by eating right and kids need to know that so they can grow up to be all they can be.”

Students were from the park district's preschool.

Marlon Rodas, marketing director of the park district, said the district is always looking for creative ways to teach students.

"If they learn in a fun way, it's easier for them to learn," Rodas said.

Adams, of Naperville, has been featured as a stand-up comic on Comedy Central, writing material for adults, and now travels frequently to perform for younger crowds.
