LA GRANGE – Scott Walker, a physical education teacher and boy's varsity swim coach, recently became a finalist for the Positive Coaching Alliance's Double-Goal Coach Award.

The award – with 75 finalists in the running – is given annually to youth or high school coaches who use sports to teach life lessons. Of the nominated 75 finalists, 25 winners will be chosen and announced on Tuesday.

Coaches honored by the PCA – a national nonprofit organization – will receive $250, a trophy, a mention in the PCA's publicity campaigns and a chance to accept the award in California at the PCA's National Youth Sports Awards Dinner.
