ELMHURST – Facebook Co-Founder Chris Hughes will present "Brave New Media World" at Elmhurst College in March.

After developing Facebook with his Harvard roommates, Hughes was director of online organizing for Barack Obama's presidential campaign. He helped Obama raise more than $500 million from more than 2 million donations, according to a Elmhurst College news release.

In 2012, Hughes bought The New Republic magazine with the intent to transition the publication into the digital age, the release said.

Hughes' lecture will begin at 7 p.m. March 6 in the Founders Lounge of Elmhurst College's Frick Center. Admission costs $10 for the general public. Elmhurst College students, faculty, staff and alumni are free.
