This has been an incredibly hard and long winter.
I really like winter – it’s my second favorite season of the year, but even a cold weather fan like me is find this one hard to bear. Fortunately for all of us we have some great things going on at the Fountaindale Library to perk us all up.
On Saturday, we will have our third annual Preschool Round-Up. This is a great opportunity to find the pre-school that is right for your child.
We will have more than a dozen pre-schools and daycare centers for you to check out, and other groups will be present as well. We will have drawings for teachers and parents and fun things for the kids to do too. The Round-Up will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. here at the library.
The Saturday after that we will have Digging for Dinosaurs. This all ages program will be on Saturday, March t from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and hosted by two experienced dinosaur hunters. We will also get to see a video from a recent dig.
I have been very fortunate to lose some weight this New Year – must be from all the snow shoveling!
We will all have an opportunity to learn the facts about weight loss on Tuesday, March 11 from John Chase of the Bolingbrook Park District. John will talk about the myths and truths of weight loss and how we can all reach our desired weight loss goals.
Please register for this exciting program on Tuesday, March 11 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Space is limited so make sure to sign up today.
Our Friends of the Fountaindale Public Library will be having their Book Sale on March 15-16. Affordable CDs, books and DVDs will be for sale and you can support a great organization that helps our library at the same time.
The sale is being held on Saturday, March 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, March 16 from noon to 3 p.m. in Meeting Room A & B.
Beyond the Stacks, our new e-newsletter, is up and running.
