LYONS – BuckleDown Brewery, 4700 W. 47th St., celebrated this weekend for the release of its newest beer – Stompbox.

BuckleDown, which opened in December in Lyons, released their new Stompbox American stout at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

For their first American stout, BuckleDown owner Sean Mahoney said the brewery wanted to give it an American name, rich in history. Stompbox music, where a guitar player will use a "stompbox" to add a percussive element to his guitar playing, ties in well with BuckleDown's new "strong, hearty beer," Mahoney said.

BuckleDown is open Thursday through Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
