Pythagoras Children's Academy to host open house

ELMHURST – Pythagoras Children’s Academy of The Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Demetrios in Elmhurst will host an open house for current and prospective students.

PCA offers full-time preschool, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, in addition to first through fourth grades.

PCA curriculum is aligned with Common Core and based on state standards. The program also includes Christian religion classes, and Greek language instruction at all levels, according to a news release.

In addition to low student-to-teacher ratios, students participate in art and music classes, and technology is integrated into the curriculum. After school care for preschool through pre-kindergarten and after school clubs for kindergarten through fourth grade are available. A four-week summer camp is also offered. 

The open house Feb. 21 will allow prospective students and families can meet the teachers, tour the school and learn about the curriculum, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. From 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. current students and families can tour a child’s classroom, get a closer look at student progress this year, and go on a fun scavenger hunt. Families can also get acquainted with teachers and curriculum for the next grade level.

PCA is located at The Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Demetrios, at 893 N. Church Road.
