Downers Grove South Hall of Fame welcomes four

DOWNERS GROVE – On Saturday night, the doors to the Downers Grove South Athletic Hall of Fame will swing open and four new inductees will join the ranks.

Jenny Davis, Michael Flaiz, Michael Lambke and Tim Mash will enter the Hall of Fame in a ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, prior to South's 6 p.m. boys basketball game against West Aurora.

Davis was a coach and administrator at the school from 1977 to 2010.

Flaiz, a 1985 graduate, was an all-state soccer player and also competed in basketball and baseball.

Lambke is also a 1985 graduate who was an all-state football player and a track and field state meet qualifier in shot put.

Mash was part of the football coaching staff from 1980 to 2000, including head coach from 1980 to 1988. During his stint as head coach, the Mustangs compiled a 64-29 record, had eight winning seasons, and finished second in the state in 1984.
