Woodridge Park District announces open houses for rec center design

Published: Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 3:52 p.m. CDT

WOODRIDGE – The Woodridge Park District Board of Commissioners will hold open houses this spring regarding the proposed Athletic Recreation Center's architectural design.

The meetings are scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. April 3 and 9 a.m. to noon April 5 at the Community Center.

In December, the Village of Woodridge reached a $2.25 million settlement agreement to acquire the Janes Avenue Shopping Center at the northeast corner of Janes Avenue and 83rd Street to construct the rec center.

The village anticipates taking possession of the shopping center early this year and plans to assist the existing businesses with relocating by April 30.

More information on the project can be found online at www.woodridgeparks.org.
