LEMONT – Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A Assistant Superintendent Mary Gricus has posted an announcement on the district website introducing parents to its new notification system, Backboard Connect 5.

The Board of Education approved a contract for the new system in October because it would allow the district to send out as many messages as it wanted at a flat rate and to use a variety of formats, such as email and text.

Messages are divided into two categories: emergency and outreach.

Parents can opt out of outreach messages, which include reminders about events, calendar changes and meetings.
