GLEN ELLYN – Community Consolidated School District 89 in Glen Ellyn has named a veteran educator from Wheaton Warrenville Community Unit School District 200 as the new principal of Westfield Elementary School, according to a news release from the district.
Stacey Hewick, of Wheaton, will take over the role for the 2014-15 school year. She will replace current Principal Kim Price, who will move to District 89's Glen Crest Middle School.
The district's Board of Education approved Hewick's hiring Monday.
“Stacey is a veteran educator with 18 years of experience as an elementary teacher, district and building curriculum leader and as a district curriculum coordinator,” Superintendent John Perdue said in the release. “She brings a rich background in teaching and learning to our district.”
Hewick has a bachelors degree in elementary education and speech pathology from Northern Illinois University, a masters degree in curriculum and instruction from National Lewis University and an administrative certification from Aurora University. She also has an English as a Second Language endorsement.
Hewick has been employed by District 200 since 1996.
“Stacey was introduced to the Westfield staff earlier this month, and transition tasks will begin in the coming weeks,” Perdue said.
