Wheaton Park District to offer four cultural field trips

WHEATON – The Wheaton Park District will offer four trips for adults in the coming months, according to a district news release.

All trips include a professional escort and transportation from the Wheaton Community Center.

On Feb. 28, the district is organizing a trip to the Lyric Opera's production of "Barber of Seville." English translations will be projected and an optional half-hour preshow lecture will be available. The cost is $145, which includes lunch.

World-renowned Japanese pianist Mistsuko Uchida will perform March 14 at the Symphony Center in Chicago, according to the artist's website. She will conduct and play Schubert's "Piano Quintet (The Trout)" among others, the district release said. The cost is $107.

On March 22, there will be a performance of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and on May 8, the Joffrey Ballet will present "Romeo and Juliet," which will include a pre-ballet talk and a dinner at nearby Brasserie restaurant. The costs are $49 and $149, respectively.
