'The Capones' cast member dies after battle with cancer

Madeline Santarelli, 35, "The Capones" cast member and Elmwood Park resident, died Monday due to stage 4 liver and lung cancer, according to media reports.

"The Capones," a reality TV show that premiered Jan. 28, stars Dominic Capone, co-owner of Capone's Restaurant and Pizzeria in Lombard. Dominic Capone claims to be the great-nephew of iconic gangster Al Capone.

Santarelli was diagnosed in November, according to media reports.

Santarelli, who was Dominic Capone's long-time friend and possible ex-girlfriend, was hired at the restaurant on the show's first episode, according to reports.
