Chicago man charged in October armed robbery outside Bolingbrook office

BOLINGBROOK – A Chicago man has been charged with armed robbery and battery for a Oct. 7 incident outside of a Bolingbrook office.

Michael McCarroll, 38, 6432 S. Peoria, Chicago, allegedly battered and robbed a 48-year-old man outside his workplace, police said.

McCarroll and two other men allegedly approached the victim at the entrance of the office, 6 Territorial Court, and inquired about job openings before McCarroll knocked him to the ground and the three offenders took cash and a wallet, according to police. The victim then fled into the business and notified a co-worker, police said.

The incident was investigated and detectives were able to link McCarroll to the case, according to police.

Bolingbrook Police Problem Oriented Policing Unit served the warrant on McCarroll and took him into custody in Chicago. He was interviewed, processed and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

The incident remains under investigation. It's unclear if police have identified the two other suspects.
