Police reports: Brookfield, Lyons and Riverside for Feb. 12

BROOKFIELD

Burglary

A home in the 4000 block of Arthur Avenue was burglarized at 11:43 a.m. on Jan. 30. A witness said she saw two men in ski masks attempting to break into the rear of the home and later leave with bags in hand. An officer at the home found drawers dumped on the floor and furniture disturbed. The home reportedly belongs to a nursing home patient who has not lived in it for several years. The son of the owner said anything of value had already been removed from the home.

DUI

Mladen Vukojevic, 25, of Elk Grove Village, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, improper lane use, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to signal after a traffic incident at 4:15 a.m. Feb. 1 at Ogden and Sunnyside avenues.

Assault

Robert Kisel, 62, of Brookfield, was charged with aggravated assault after an incident at 8:37 p.m. Jan. 31 in the 3000 block of Harrison Avenue.

License violations

Alvaro Miranda, 41, of Chicago, was charged with driving without a valid license after a traffic stop at 7:11 p.m. Jan. 27 at Windemere Street and Prairie Avenue.

LYONS

DUI

Brian Hahn, 33, of the 4000 block of Anna Avenue, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop at 3:07 a.m. Feb. 2 at Ogden Avenue and Plainfield Road.

Identity Theft

A resident reported an incident of identity theft at 1:04 p.m. Jan. 31. The complainant said someone opened a Comcast account in her name, which she now owed $2,173.

DUI

• Cristina Gutierrez, 46, of 4810 86th St., Burbank, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop at 3:56 a.m. Jan. 31 in the 3900 block of Harlem Avenue.

• Luis Garcia, 20, of 6608 Chester Ave., Hodgkins, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs after a traffic stop at 11:10 p.m. Feb. 2 at Harlem Avenue and Pershing Road.

License violations

• Guadalupe Cruz, 33, of 7313 60th Place, Summit, was charged with driving while license suspended after a traffic stop at 8:40 a.m. Jan. 28 in the 3500 block of South Harlem Avenue.

• Antonio Akins, 36, of 1635 N. Mason Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving while license suspended after a traffic stop at 9:16 a.m. Jan. 30 at South Harlem Avenue and Robinson Road.

• Lon McLendon, 49, of 117 S. Waller Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving while license suspended after a traffic stop at 12:24 a.m. Jan.31 at First Avenue and Golfview Drive.

• Vanessa Puente, 29, of 5348 S. Maplewood Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving while license suspended, expired registration, no insurance and not having a child in a safety restraint after a traffic stop at 2:15 p.m. Feb. 1 at East Quincy Street and South Harlem Avenue.

• Pedro Gomez, 20, of 2717 S. Kenilworth Ave., Berwyn, was charged with driving while license suspended, no valid insurance and obstructed windshield after a traffic stop at 11:39 p.m. Feb. 1 in the 2600 block of South Harlem Avenue.

Theft

A payroll check delivered to 63 Forest Avenue was stolen by an unknown subject who signed for it Jan. 17. The check had not been cashed, so it was cancelled and reissued.
