Almost $11K in jewelry reported stolen in apparent home burglary in Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE – A resident in the 4300 block of Oakwood Avenue told police she arrived home at 2:45 p.m. Monday to discover the front door ajar and jewelry and electronics missing from the home.

Five rings, six necklaces, 10 bracelets and eight earrings were reported missing from two bedrooms, along with two pillow cases. The jewelry was estimated at a total value of $10,800.

A Nintendo Wii game system and Microsoft Xbox were also reported stolen along with several games from the basement.

Damage to the front door frame and lock was estimated at $235.

There are no suspects.
