GLEN ELLYN – A man allegedly robbed a local pharmacy at gunpoint Tuesday, taking narcotics and cash, according to a news release from the Glen Ellyn Police Department.
Officers responded to a reported armed robbery at 5:30 p.m. at the Glen Ellyn Pharmacy, 486 Roosevelt Road, the release said.
The man allegedly entered the store, pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded hydrocodone, a narcotic pain reliever considered to be a controlled substance, according to the release. After receiving the pills, he reportedly reached into the cash register and took an unknown amount of money.
The man then left the store, walking west, the release said.
No one was hurt, according to the release.
The man is described as white, 50 years old, 6 feet tall and 165 pounds, the release said. He was wearing blue jeans, a khaki jacket and a blue knit hat.
