DuPage County museum to host speakeasy Casino Night fundraiser

Published: Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 1:08 p.m. CDT

Flappers, mobsters, gambling and drinks will fill the DuPage County Historical Museum for an evening, as it is transformed into an old-time speakeasy during its Casino Night fundraiser Feb. 28, according to a museum news release.

Guests are encouraged to come in period clothes to enjoy the 1920's atmosphere and raise money for the museum.

"It's really wonderful that this event actually happens in the museum, because people get to see what their involvement benefits, but at the same time, the pressure's off," said Curator Sara Arnas in the release. "It's not a lecture or a class; it's an interactive gambling event. We really want people to enjoy themselves."

For $75, attendees receive two drink tickets and access to food and games. The event will take place from 6:30 to 10 p.m. To register or for more information, visit www.dupagemuseum.org or call 630-510-4941.
