Driver in critical condition after Warrenville crash

WARRENVILLE – A motorist is in critical condition after reportedly suffering a medical emergency as a result of crashing into two other vehicles while traveling southbound on Illinois Route 59 in Warrenville, according to a city news release.

At 7:21 a.m. Monday, the vehicle crossed over the center median on Illinois Route 59 north of Mack Road and struck two northbound vehicles, the release said.

It appears a medical emergency caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, according to the release.

The driver is in critical condition at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, the release said. Another driver was treated at the scene, while the third was transported to Central DuPage for evaluation.

The accident is under investigation by the Warrenville Police Department, with help from the FIAT Major Crash Reconstruction Team.
